Today’s new eating culture is inevitably the junk food culture.

Why junk food?

Cheap to buy, easy to fill an appetite and yummy to gobble are surely irresistible to the eyes, mouth-watering to the thought and satisfying to the stomach. But, what about health?

Junk food is affecting the lives of people especially children globally. This new culture is increasingly creating new illnesses and reducing their life span as seen in an article.

In this article, according to a data, junk food is increasing the number of obese children. Experts’ results in the Pediatric obesity journal predicted 317 million overweight or obese children by 2025. Illnesses like high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes in children which was only seen in adults before are rising. Above 3.5 million kids have type two diabetes.

This article has surely attracted my attention as it relates to my topic, cooking which encourages home-made food.

Enjoying good food is not gobbling all kinds of food.

This article is surely a help to all foodies who visit my blog. By any foodie, I mean mothers, fathers, children, adults, teenagers or even old- aged people. Seeing home-cooked food will surely encourage them in embracing the culture of cooking good food for a good health.

This article concerns my topic “cooking” in showing that junk food is not always the best option.

The junk food that one gets outside can also be cooked in more natural and healthy manner at home. The picture “why junk food when you can cook healthy & enjoy” shows my opinion towards junk food. Cooking home-made is surely better as one can control the ingredients’ quantities or replace processed food with natural ingredients.

In fact, according to a reference on the medical basis in an article published in 2007 in "The New York Times Health Guide" stated that cooked food at home are healthier than junk ones; cooked ones contain less levels of calories and saturated fat, less sugar and less salt.

This article is surely positive for the future of cooking. I had selected natural ways to cook food like the recipe of rasgullas in my blog. Concerning the Boondi Ladoos, the sweets were dedicated for occasions. The home-made food and snacks’ pictures show healthy cooking.

Eating adequate sugary or adequate salty food sometimes is not harmful to the health if one exercises and always eat balanced and healthy home-made meals.
