#Rasgulla: Sweet Divine

Home-made Rasguallas

Rasgullas always awake the hidden foodie out of me. It may sound a bit surreal but a lot of good memories are connected with Rasgulla.

Getting excited on hearing about Rasgulla, eating it in secret, having them as treats on happy Sundays and persuading mom to make it every time I see it on TV or want it will always be one of the most memorable times in my entire life.

Believe it or not, whenever my mom makes it, I feel like taking a plunge into the syrupy bowl.

Golden-brown balls dipped into a divine-like syrup with arousing smell of cardamom is surely irresistible.

The moment it gets into one’s mouth, its combo of softness and adequate sweetness work wonders into the mouth.

The milky taste mixed with cardamom aromatic flavour gives such a yummy taste that one will always say yes to Rasgullah.

What is more amazing about Rasgullas is that it can fit any special or unexpected occasion.

If one is worrying about a quick dish or dessert for unexpected guests, then Rasgullah is surely a rescue dish.

If one is thinking to prepare something tasty for the special someone, then Rasgullas are here.

Whether it is a birthday home-made treat or festival, Rasgullas will add life to the occasion.

Well, everyone has its own way and recipes of making a dish. My mom also taught me her own way of making Rasgullas which I have tried and was successful too.

As easy it is to eat Rasgullas, it is even easier to make it.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 125g milk powder

  • 1.5 cups of sugar

  • 2 cups of water

  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder or 8 cardamoms

Preparation:

  • Mix milk powder with water to make a dough

  • Make small round balls from the dough and keep them in a bowl.

  • Prepare syrup : mix 2 cups of water and 1.5 cups of sugar together, turn on the gas and put it on low flame, put the sugary water on the low flame and let it boil, then put cardamom powder or 8 cardamoms and let it boil.

  • After boiled, remove syrup and let it cool down.

  • Put oil in a pan and let it on medium flame till it becomes hot

  • Put the small balls and let it fry till it becomes golden brown

  • Remove it and then put it in the syrup.

Your yummy rasgullas are ready!
